TRANSFORMATIONAL GOVERNANCE at the CENTER OF THE 2024 CEO MEETING PROMOTED BY UN Global Compact Network Italy

The ninth edition of the Business & SDGs High Level Meeting promoted by UN Global Compact Network Italy was held on 22 May 2024 in Milan, Italy. It was attended by CEOs, presidents and top managers of Italian companies adhering to the UN initiative, together with experts and academics. The theme at the center of this year's edition was Transformative Governance for a more ethical, prosperous and sustainable business, in line with SDG16 of the UN 2030 Agenda.

Marco Frey, President of UN Global Compact Network Italy, explains the meaning of this concept, the drivers that make companies operate in this perspective, the opportunities and future challenges: in parallel with the key role of the top management as a driving force of a corporate culture and strategic management oriented to the principles of sustainability, the future challenge will lie in the creation of virtuous partnerships with other key players on this path - institutions, customers, suppliers, NGOs - and the involvement of young talents, the real protagonists of the transformation of the next decade.
